Fit and Forget Engine Protection
The MIL Mi-24/25/35 helicopter is a military attack helicopter which can also be used for military troop transport. It is currently flown by defense forces around the world in a range of environments, including African desert operations.The “fit and forget” PUREair system is an ideal solution for such challenging conditions. Maintenance
The PUREair is a “fit and forget” system; there are no inlet barrier filters to replace or clean. As with all aircraft equipment, routine visual inspection is recommended. In case of damage, please refer to the Component Maintenance Manual, available through Pall Aerospace.For additional information about this product, please contact your local Pall representative.
The Pall PUREair solution is an environmentally friendly alternative to oil-wetted barrier filters. There is no filter replacement and no daily cleaning as with oil-based solutions which are difficult and expensive to dispose of. |

Pall Aerospace has provided engine inlet protection for Russian helicopters since 1980. The original MIL PUREair design evolved from the PUREair system that Pall designed for the Commando Helicopter, an Army Aviation version of the Navy Sea King. At the request of North African and Middle East operators, the use of the Commando PUREair was extended with some interface modifications to the MIL Mi-8, MIL Mi-24 A, and MIL Mi-17 families.
Fitting Pall’s PUREair system on these helicopters proved to be invaluable - the engine erosion life was extended by five times compared to the original OEM separator; FOD protection was also greatly enhanced, as well as the ability to operate in icing/snow conditions. All of these substantial benefits led a major North African operator to request that Pall Aerospace develop a specific design for their fleet of MIL Mi-24/25/35 helicopters.
